FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions
Materials & Quality
What is mulberry silk, and what does "momme" mean?
Mulberry silk is the highest grade of natural silk, prized for its smooth, even fibers. Momme (mm) measures silk fabric weight — the higher the momme, the denser and more durable the silk. Jeelow silk pieces range from 12mm everyday neckerchiefs to luxurious 22mm scrunchies and sun masks.
Are Jeelow linen scarves really 100% linen?
Yes. Our Signature linen scarves are woven from 100% pure flax linen. We also offer cotton-linen blends and soft viscose blends — every product page states the exact fabric composition.
What are hand-rolled hems?
Hand-rolled hems are the traditional finish used on fine silk scarves: the edge is rolled and stitched by hand, creating a soft, rounded border that marks a well-made scarf.
Care
How do I wash a silk scarf?
We recommend gentle hand washing in cool water with a pH-neutral detergent, then air drying away from direct sunlight. Iron on low heat from the reverse side if needed.
How do I care for linen and cotton scarves?
Most Jeelow linen and cotton pieces can be hand washed or machine washed on a gentle, cold cycle and laid flat to dry. Linen softens beautifully with each wash. Check the product page for item-specific care notes.
