Each design is drawn rather than photographed, which is what keeps it from reading as a summer scarf, and gold is worked through the print so it catches the light as the fabric moves. Gilded Lotus sets ivory lotus blooms and long stems on a warm brown ground. Gilded Peony puts full peony heads in teal and ochre over cream. Gilded Roses is the softest of the three.

At 25 by 74 inches this is blanket scale rather than a neck scarf. It is long enough to loop twice at the collar with the ends still hanging, and wide enough to open out across the shoulders, or fold over a lap on a plane or at a desk that never gets warm enough. The ends are left frayed rather than stitched down, which is what keeps it looking relaxed instead of formal.

Both faces are finished, so it works flipped either way, or twisted once at the front so both tones show at the same time.
