Three wide vertical bands of colour down one length of cotton, and nothing else. No print, no border, no hardware.

What it is made of: 100% cotton with no synthetic content, woven open as a gauze and left crinkled all over, which is what keeps it cool on a hot afternoon and still useful after dark. All four sides are left frayed rather than hemmed.

Size: measured approximately 39.4 x 74.8 in. — wide enough to open flat across the shoulders, soft enough to loop twice at the neck.

The three colourways:

• Stone & Mauve — ivory, warm taupe, and a soft mauve grey. The palest of the three, and the one that disappears into white and cream.
• Midnight & Khaki — deep navy, warm khaki taupe, pale grey. The most contrast of the three, and the one that reads over a dark coat.
• Earth & Ash — black, deep olive brown, warm ash grey. The darkest, built from the same family of tones as a black coat rather than fighting it.

Care: hand wash cold, lay flat to dry. Do not press — the crinkle is the point.
