Yes, this is 100% mulberry silk — 12 momme silk charmeuse, finished with a narrow rolled hem.

Where the botanical prints are drawn, these are painted — brushwork rather than line, with the colour laid on thickly enough that you can see where the stroke started.

Black is filled with a dense bouquet of pink, cream and gold blooms on emerald leaves, with the border and corners left plain black so the flowers read as one mass in the middle. Cream carries coral red blooms brushed across one corner in loose strokes, framed by a double border of pale blue and tan. Mid blue is scattered with small white and pink flowers on fine stems and lifted by a bright orange band. Navy is the busiest: orange blooms, white blossom clusters, rust berries and sage leaves, with small beetles worked in between for anyone who looks closely.

At approximately 21 x 21 in. it knots at the collar, folds down into a headband, wraps twice around hair, or ties to a bag handle so a plain tote reads finished.
