Yes, this is 100% mulberry silk — 12 momme silk charmeuse, finished with a narrow rolled hem.

Both of these are drawn the way an old engraving is: very fine line, no shading, the whole scene built out of hatching. It is the opposite of a painted print, and it holds detail even when the square is folded down to a band.

The blue one is a scene of flowering trees with hanging seed pods, clouds and stars picked out in gold, a crescent moon medallion in one corner, all held inside a solid black border. The cream one is a menagerie — birds, horses, a fox and small figures drawn among flowering vines in gold and grey, with a grey scrollwork panel running the border.

At approximately 21 x 21 in. it knots at the collar, folds down into a headband, wraps twice around hair, or ties to a bag handle so a plain tote reads finished.
